Students

Go to https://sdsu.box.com/s/5yiddn2iq9z6asqeidvjpr2skwgbl50w to get the software. You will need lo log in with your jacks e-mail. Then you will be allowed to download from this Box.com folder.

Faculty/Staff

If you have an e-mail address that ends in @sdstate.edu, you have access to the faculty/staff intranet called InsideState. Log into InsideState using the username and password for your @sdstate.edu mail account (your username is the same as the part of the e-mail before the @).

• Go to https://insidestate.sdstate.edu/academics/general/library/default.aspx (the library's site on InsideState).
• Download the appropriate installer file (Windows - use EndNote20-Windows-Installer; Mac - use EN20-Mac-Installer).

Microsoft Office programs

• Make sure all Microsoft Office programs are closed before installing EndNote.

Windows

• UNZIP or EXTRACT the files. Be sure to fully extract the files from the zipped folder.
  • This step is very important - you will be asked for a product key which is not available if the files are not unzipped/extracted first.
• Leave both files in the same place and run the EN20Inst file. 
• Follow the instructions on the screen during installation. 
  • If you get a box asking for a product ID, it is probably because the files were not extracted from the zipped file properly. Make sure that you extract the files from the zipped file before installing.

Mac

• Download the EndNote20-Mac-Installer file. 
• Double click the downloaded file. 
• Double click the Program Icon. 
• Follow the instructions on the screen during installation.

Windows

• In EndNote, click on the Help menu;
• Click on "Check for Updates..."
• If there is an update, download it and follow any instructions for installing.

Mac

• In EndNote, click on the EndNote 20 menu.
• Click on "Check for Updates..."
• If there is an update, download it and follow any instructions for installing.
