EndNote X9 came just in time for the 2019 school year! To get the newest version of EndNote, follow the instructions on the Getting Started tab of this guide!

What is EndNote?

  • Saves citations from databases (journals, books, other reference types)
  • Inserts citations into papers in Word, Pages, Open Office Writer, and other word processors
  • Organizes your PDF articles
  • Available to all SDSU students, faculty, and staff
  • Provided by the South Dakota Board of Regents

EndNote Training

Training from Briggs Library:

Note on Browsers

Firefox imports records directly into EndNote with no extra steps required.

Chrome saves a file to your computer and then you must import it to EndNote from within EndNote.

Internet Explorer does not work well with some databases or with EndNote. Try a different browser.

Safari may offer you the option of importing directly or saving. It works differently with Macs and Windows.
