E-books at Briggs Library: Download a National Academies Press Book to a Nook

Briggs has e-books in many different collections. This guide will help you find and use them.

Download a pdf File to a Nook

On a computer, create a free account to the National Academies Press and log in.

Find the book you want to download.

Note that only books owned by SDSU can be downloaded for free.

You can search either the Library Catalog or the National Academies Press site for books.

Open the book online by clicking on a chapter.

Under Free PDF Access, click on PDF book.

Save the File.

Connect your Nook to the computer using a USB/mini USB cord and go to the File Manager.

Unlock your Nook if prompted to do so.

Go to the Downloads Folder and find the file. You can rename the file by clicking on it, waiting a couple seconds then clicking on it again (do not double click either time). When the title is highlighted by itself, type a new name for the file.

Drag and drop the file to the Nook Digital Editions folder.

Eject your Kindle by right clicking on the Kindle drive then choosing Eject from the list.
