Loan limits

The number of books you can check out from Briggs Library depends on your role at the university.

Undergraduate students: 50 items

Graduate students: 100 items

Staff members: 200 items

Faculty members: 400 items

Guest borrowers: 20 items

Any South Dakota resident over the age of 16 may borrow materials from Briggs Library. You must provide a valid photo ID and proof of South Dakota residency when you request an account. You may then use any photo ID to check materials out.

Undergraduates:

Book/Upper Level: 1 month

Laptops/Tables: 3 days

Lockers: End of Semester

Bound Periodicals: 1 week

Curriculum Collection: End of Semester

DVDs/Videos: 2 weeks

Government Documents: 1 month

Headphones: End of Day
