How to name your guide
Subject Guides
- Spell out the full name of the department or college the guide is for
- Add "Research Guide" at the end
Course Guides
- Use the official abbreviation for the department, a space, and the course number
- What to do for cross-listed courses?
- You may add the instructor's last name if you need it to distinguish between two guides for the same course (e.g. Engl 201 Flynn)
- Add "Research Guide" at the end
Other Guides
- Use a name descriptive of the content
- E.g. Common Read 2016 or EndNote
- You do not need to use "Research Guide" at the end when it isn't a research guide
