What are Open Educational Resources?

Teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others.

OER vs. Open Access (OA)

Open Access is a broad publishing model where research is made freely available. There are several different types of open access, and some OA has a cost for researchers and/or libraries. Open access research is also often still under copyright, which means it cannot be reused or modified without permission. Open educational resources are free to use and have copyright licenses that allow for reuse, remix, and modification.
