Completing research projects is a part of academic life. But why? Because, in addition to gaining a better understanding your research topic, you will learn the research process. Knowing how to research and use information, also know as mastering information literacy skills, is crucial to your on-going success in an information-rich and rapidly-changing society.
Scholarly communication is a conversation and your own research allows you contribute to that conversation. Your work responds to previous publications and your citations and bibliographies acknowledge this. Once you have published, your work will contribute to the web of scholarly communication.
