The U.S. government collects, compiles, and reports a massive amount of data and statistics on all aspects of life in America including our health. Much of this information is easily found through Google, but it's often best to go straight to the source.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Data & Statistics (by topic)

Select from a menu of topics to find quick facts, statistics, graphs, and charts, but also longer reports covering a variety of diseases and conditions.

Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)

Timely, reliable, authoritative, accurate, objective, and useful public health information and recommendations.

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

Provides statistical information, briefs and reports that guide policies to improve the health of the American people.

PubMed and CINAHL are good sources for health statistics and data on specific populations, geographic areas, or rare diseases and medical conditions not collected by government agencies or large organizations.
