How do I pay my fines?

Where do I pay my fines or library fees?

Library fines, bindery fees, and other charges can be paid at the Library Services Desk on the main level of Briggs Library or mailed to the Briggs Library Circulation Dept, 1300 N Campus Dr, South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD 57007-1098.

Library fines that have been posted to your student account must be paid to the Cashier's Office.

Can I use a credit card to pay my library charges?

No, but you may use cash, check, or Hobo Dough to pay your library fines and fees. The Cashier's Office does, however, take credit cards.

What happens if I don't pay my library charges?

If not paid within 30 days of billing, library charges are turned over to the Cashier's Office to be added to your total bill for SDSU courses and services.

Fines for Regular Loans (Books and Government Documents)

Late return of most circulating books and government documents are fined as follows:

30 or more days late    $10 per item

More than 60 days late

Replacement cost + $10 per item

Note: Unpaid bills may be sent to the University cashier's office and charged to a student's account.
