Here are some common words and basic concepts, including a formal introduction that is used to introduce yourself in Lakota and the kinship terms used to greet your thiwáhe (family).
In the Lakota language there are lots of orthographies. An orthography is a conventional system of a language (spelling system). In this exhibit, we are using the Suggested Lakota orthography.
