Love Data Week @Briggs

There are many ways to get involved at Briggs to celebrate Love Data Week! Here are a few options:
  • Participate in our Data Escape Room: Grab a few friends to see if you can rescue our beloved mascot, Briggs-osaurus, using only your knowledge of data! The escape will run from 6:30-10:30 on Tuesday, Feb. 13th, and Thursday, Feb. 15th. Teams of 2-6 can RSVP here: http://tinyurl.com/EscapeBriggs
  • Make or take a Data Valentine: Trying to tell that special someone how you feel? Or want to share with the world why you love data? Briggs Library has the solution for you! Stop by our Data Valentine make-and-take station anytime Feb. 12-16th to get the Valentine(s) you need. And make sure to stop by our "Library Data" exhibit on your way out!
  • Take in a Love Data Week virtual event: ICPSR makes a number of virtual events available for free through their Love Data Week website. These events will teach you everything from creating accessible data visualizations, the basics of research data management, to using AI or data software to better explore datasets. All events are free!
  • Follow us on social media: Make sure you're following Briggs on Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter) to get the most up-to-date news, plus fun facts about how we love data.

What is Love Data Week?

Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, and libraries, research institutions, corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations all participate. Heather Coates kicked off the original Love Data Week in 2016, and it has grown to include more people each year. The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is now the home of Love Data Week.
This year's theme is "My Kind of Data." Join International Love Data Week February 12-16, 2024, to learn about data equity and inclusion, disciplinary communities, and creating a kinder world through data.
