This page provides information on library resources and services to support our campus community as courses transition to online delivery.
Hilton M. Briggs Library, South Dakota State University is currently closed.
SDSU students and employees can access most electronic resources (databases, journals, ebooks) using university credentials. You will be prompted to enter your credentials when you click on electronic resources from our webpages.
Library staff have very limited access to the library's collection of print books, bound journals, and government documents. We hope to be authorized to retrieve print items from the collection for SDSU faculty members in the near future (starting date to be determined). To request materials, contact your Subject Librarian. Requests can also be submitted via your Library Account (login from Quick Search). Once the details of the service are worked out, we will contact you regarding your requests.
QUICK SEARCH will help you find many types of resources:
Instructions for adding online articles from library databases to D2L course pages can be found here: Reserve Materials: Electronic Reserves.
Our Research Guides provide links to recommended resources for specific disciplines and courses and include options for contacting Subject Librarians. Let us know what additional content would support you and your students.
Consult our Copyright Research Guide for assistance with copyright questions. A new section has been added regarding copyright and the rapid transition to online instruction.
Subject Librarians are available to assist all members of the campus community - faculty, staff, and students - via Zoom, email, and phone.
Subject Librarians can provide instruction to classes via Zoom. We will also work with instructors to create materials such as short videos, written instructions, etc. to support online courses. Additional information about our Instruction Services can be found here: Instruction Services
