EndNote: PowerPoint & EndNote

Windows EndNote and PowerPoint

EndNote works with PowerPoint but only on Windows at this time.

  • Insert Citation on slides.
  • Create Bibliography slide.

Citations

Quite different from working with Word, citations and bibliography entries are inserted separately in PowerPoint.

To insert a citation:

  • In PowerPoint, click on the EndNote X7 ribbon.
  • Make sure your cursor is in the box you want the citations added to.
  • The Insert Citation button allows you to search for the citations you want to add.
    • You can insert the citation to display as Author (year); (year); or Author.
  • The Insert Selected Citations requires you to select the citations you want to insert in EndNote first. It then inserts the citation as (Author Year).

To insert a full reference:

  • In PowerPoint, click on the EndNote X7 ribbon.
  • Make sure your cursor is in the box you want the references added to.
  • The Insert Reference button allows you to search for the references you want to add.
  • The Insert Selected Reference(s) button requires you to select the citations you want to insert in EndNote first. It will then insert the references for the records you checked.
